Join us tor learn, connect, build community, and have fun!
Join us in welcoming Shelia Triplett, recently retired CEO of MYCAP Mahoning County Community Action in Youngstown, Ohio, who is a Licensed Social Worker and respected nonprofit leader with decades of experience serving individuals and families. Shelia will lead an engaging discussion on effective strategies for reducing loneliness and strengthening social connections within our senior communities.

Bundles & Blessings: First Annual Diaper Shower
Join State Representative Latyna M. Humphrey on June 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Barnett Community Center for a free Community Diaper Shower focused on providing support and essential resources to local mothers and families. This event is designed to help ease the financial burden many families face by providing free diapers and baby essentials to those in need.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with local organizations and community partners offering valuable resources related to maternal health, infant care, family support services, and other community programs. The event aims to create greater awareness of available services while ensuring families have access to necessities that help support healthy and stable homes for children.
Representative Latyna M. Humphrey is committed to supporting families and addressing the everyday affordability challenges many parents face. This diaper shower is part of her ongoing efforts to connect residents with meaningful support, resources, and community-based assistance. Refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

The group was concerned with the decline of businesses, inadequate city services, rising crime and rapid residential growth. The commission was sworn in on March 5, 2012 as the 17th Area Commission in the City of Columbus.

Mideast Area Commission Meeting
The Mideast Area Commission (MAC) is one of 21 area commissions in the city of Columbus, distinguished by its unique structure. Unlike other commissions, MAC is composed of a representative from each civic/block watch associations within its boundaries. This model promotes inclusivity and resilience, ensuring that all community voices are heard.
We meet monthly to effectively address issues related to crime, city development, zoning, and other social concerns impacting our neighborhoods. MAC serves as a vital resource portal, connecting residents to city services and resources that can assist with their needs.
Each civic/block watch within commissioner holds the autonomy to make decisions affecting their neighborhood and can appeal to the MAC for support when confronting challenges. By uniting around a common cause, we create meaningful progress and strengthen our neighborhoods.
The MAC meets every 3rd Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:00PM at 4300 Kimberly Parkway at the Liberians in Columbus, Inc.

Northland Unity Festival 2026
Unity Festival is Northland’s annual celebration of the cultures, people, and community that make this neighborhood one of the most vibrant in Central Ohio. Food trucks, community exhibitors, and neighbors from across the area come together for an afternoon of culture, connection, and celebration.
Over the years, Unity Festival has grown into a signature Northland tradition. In 2026, we’re bringing it home to the North YMCA — more space, more visibility, more Northland.

Far East Area Commission Meeting
The Far East Area Commission began in the Spring of 2010 with a group of community residents consisting of neighborhood block watch coordinators and civic association leaders who serve the Far East Side of Columbus, Ohio. The group was concerned with the decline of businesses, inadequate city services, rising crime and rapid residential growth. The commission was sworn in on March 5, 2012 as the 17th Area Commission in the City of Columbus.

Mideast Area Commission Meeting
The Mideast Area Commission (MAC) is one of 21 area commissions in the city of Columbus, distinguished by its unique structure. Unlike other commissions, MAC is composed of a representative from each civic/block watch associations within its boundaries. This model promotes inclusivity and resilience, ensuring that all community voices are heard.
We meet monthly to effectively address issues related to crime, city development, zoning, and other social concerns impacting our neighborhoods. MAC serves as a vital resource portal, connecting residents to city services and resources that can assist with their needs.
Each civic/block watch within commissioner holds the autonomy to make decisions affecting their neighborhood and can appeal to the MAC for support when confronting challenges. By uniting around a common cause, we create meaningful progress and strengthen our neighborhoods.
The MAC meets every 3rd Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:00PM at 4300 Kimberly Parkway at the Liberians in Columbus, Inc.

3rd Annual Guns D.O.W.N. Youth Summit
Think Make Live Youth is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Guns D.O.W.N. Youth Summit, taking place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 9am-3pm at Columbus State Community College Workforce Development Center 315 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43215. This dynamic, youth-centered event is designed to empower young people ages 13–24 with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to promote non-violent conflict resolution and actively disrupt community violence.

“Born Poor" Free Documentary Screening & Discussion
Join Columbus Public Health and the Columbus CARE Coalition during Trauma Informed Awareness Week for a screening and discussion of “Born Poor,” a PBS Frontline documentary that follows families across generations to examine how economic hardship, wages and wealth inequality shape opportunity in America. The film highlights how systems and policies impact families’ ability to build stability and move out of poverty.
