Black History Month 2026 marks a historic milestone — 100 years of formal national Black history commemorations. This year’s celebration will spotlight the foundation laid by generations of Black leaders while uplifting the vision, brilliance, and impact shaping the next century.
Program highlights include:
Inspiring performances honoring Black culture and storytelling
A keynote address from acclaimed author and journalist Wil Haygood
The James Preston Poindexter Awards, recognizing individuals whose leadership and service continue to move Columbus forward
